i feel an intense itch at the nail edge at the tip of my middle finger. is it an infection? an insect bite? a jigger? i scratch and squeeze. i can see a tip of something peeping out. it looks like the shoot of some plant. i squeeze harder. it is stringy. i pinch it between finger and thumb pull on it. gently. out comes a whole plant of sorts. a weed.
